Gemma was handled excellently by breeder Mari Lobbestael at the Royal Canin sponsored South Australian Labrador Club Championship at the Club's grounds at St Marys on May 28th 2006
Labrador specialist Kirsi Loumanen from Finland awarded Gemma Bitch Challenge and Best Exhibit in Show ahead of 120+ exhibits.
Thankyou to Kirsi, Mari for breeding this outstanding girl, and Clive and Catherine (and Black Indy) for their attention, care and love.
"GALESTORM GUNAGO CRAZY A very strong yellow of excellent type, beautiful neck and shoulders, good forechest and even some angulation in front which is a rarity in the modern Labrador!! A typical head but on the stronger side…. Moved so well keeping the balance all the way… ch BIS"
Kirsi Loumanen - Tweedledum Kennels.
Gemma has subsequently found a new vocation. For most of her life she has fitted into the category of " She who should be obeyed!" and would "get a man in" - ie Indy - to do any real chores around the place that did not involve food. Gemma is now thriving with her work with the kids in Lab Corps. She is really keen to get into the car and go down to the RSB Dog training grounds to learn new skills. Catherine is staggered that Gemma is regarded as such a star in this environment, but Gemma knows that the treats and the interaction with the kids make it just so worthwhile - especially the treats!
