The four colour litter establishing that Cavajal True Grit carries chocolate! Sit stays at 6 weeks!
The Cavajal and Galestorm combination has certainly worked to produce some very good results this season.
Buck breaks through to win his Novice Retrieving Dog Title.
Jeff Patrick and Buck have returned triumphantly from Victoria with their final Novice win under their belts. A near faultless retrieve on the first run set up the 9 point victory for Buck and Jeff. Cavajal Labradors are very proud of this achievement, and we are pleased to be able to supply Jeff with such a talented young dog. The future for this partnership is exciting!
Sisters Indus and Bella continued to produce good results in the field, with Indus rarely finishing out of the top four in every trial, and Bella finishing the season with a third in restricted. The latter result was obviously a result of Bella reading the book and watching the ESPN outdoors programme!
Congratulations to Jeff Patrick and the young and impetuous Cavajal Buccaneer on their first Novice win in their first novice trial in South Australia! After working hard during the week to redesign elements of the Patrick's household, Buck has put together an excellent performance to finish just ahead of his grandfather - Galestorm's Didja Symore (imp USA), and his auntie Cavajal Indus! We certainly thank Wynstream Labradors for allowing us to use Flynn - Wynstream Royal Stewart - to produce this talented young dog. Buck's mother, Cavajal Brindabella, has celebrated his win by producing a healthy and lively litter of 8 pups on May 8th. Mother and pups are sensational!
Congratulations also to Mari Lobbestael who took Galestorm Gunago Native to a second place in the first novice trial of the season, backing up with a third with her lovely Symore on the following day. Symore also was awarded the judge's prize, sponsored by Royal Canin.
Congratulations also to Annette White with her fourth with Cavajal Indus, and to Ann Wilk with her fifth placing with Cavajal Outrigger. This brother and sister combination have a trailer load of natural talent and they are really enjoying and appreciating the opportunity that both the Wilks and Annette have given them. They are participating in a sport that allows them to display their athleticism, intelligence and willingness to work for the people with whom they share a very special bond.
Mick has started the 2011 trialling season off in good style, placing second at his first trial.
Cavajal Labradors in the Community!
Cavajal and Galestorm Labradors and friends have been participating in an initiative supported by the Royal Society for the Blind and Families SA. For one morning a week, Stormy, Bella (when she had a fat belly!) Indus, Kit, Saga, Spike, Gemma, Symore, Stella, Lucretia, Lucie and Dekka help students learn how to train and care for a Labrador. The aim is to enable the students to learn how to train puppies to work towards autism assist dogs. A big thankyou to Chris, Warren and Brie from the RSB Giuide Dogs training centre, in addition to Jean Bird and Lucie, Kasia, Clive Baylis, Snow Hatzagiannis and Annette for helping to supply Labradors for this initiative. Thankyou also to Mari Lobbestael for her extensive contribution and her dogs.
At the Adelaide Royal Show, two students from this initiative walked out of the ring with placings in the intermediate and open bitch classes! They then went on to also do well in the junior handler classes.
