Labs 'n Life- an initiative providing postive anticipation for youth at risk.
Labs 'n Life Activities for 2010
AGM Keswick Barracks August 11th.
Holiday activities October.
With Labs 'n Life we stop thinking of youth problems as the principle barrier to youth development and start thinking of youth development as the most effective strategy for preventing youth problems.
The volunteers at Labs 'n Life have been the glue that has kept us motoring along in the first twelve months of our Pilot programme.
Jean Bird has been to TAFE - and back! - to Minda, the beach, to shows and of course to the core work of Labs 'n Life. Jean has taught the Crews the essentials in obedience and retrieving.
John and (princess) Dianna have brought War (Cavajal Labcorps Luvnwar) to the battlefield, and have supported us at trainings, beach walks and shows - even with equipment! Dianna has assisted crews with the preparation of morning tea. The Herseys have been ardent supporters of Labs 'n Life with a succession of dogs passing through their house! Oscar, Finn and Thatcher - with the latter claiming permanent residence status!
Christine, Amanda, Andrew and Mark have taken Charlie for 2 weeks - and they understand that at times time apppears to stand still! They have lent us the effervescent Roxie and made tie down stakes and contributed in so many other very meaningful ways. They have now taken Indigo - LNL's first brood bitch - on board for the term of her natural life
Mari has been nothing short of fantastic with her ability to engage young people and secure trust and respect. She has certainly opened up her heart to the young people at Labs 'n Life. Mari's Galestorm Labradors contribute significantly to the success of Labs 'n Life.
Andrew Daly, Chris Muldoon and staff have assisted significantly in the setting up of Labs 'n Life. Their expert knowledge has assisted us to actually get up and running. Thankyou Chris for supporting the seeds of a vision.
SACA have been very supportive of Labs 'n Life, enabling our young people to participate in formal competitions for dogs, in addition to making their grounds available for training.
A special thankyou to Wendy who has supported us and put us in touch with the great young people who comprise Labs 'n Life.
